How to deal with skateboarding after filming several videos, one after another? Well, just keep going! After Hänger & Bänger and Kladeradatsch, the Shake Pfand crew got kinda split up all throughout Germany or hit hard by the pandemic in 2020. But we didn’t stop and organised quite some trips to stay connected and to be as productive as we could. Berlin’s Greifi DIY has also been a big connector for all of us. Everyone’s coming together here and if you pass by, you’re bound to meet some of the best people that you’ll ever meet. None of us would wanna miss Greifi and that’s why the spot got its own section in the video. Kokolores has been filmed between 2019 and 2024. I know that a video this long is kind of heavy to watch, especially these days. But there was no way to make it any shorter, because the list of friends that absolutely needed to appear in the video is just too long, really sorry! Give it a try, watch it in small episodes or just watch it instead of yet another Netflix series, on which you’d probably spend many more hours in front of the screen. Down below, you’ll find a few stories from the road…
RUSSIA
Flo and me thought of going somewhere else, somewhere we’ve never been before. So we decided to go to Russia. That was before the war in Ukraine had started. We started in St. Petersburg and made our way to Moscow by train, with some stops on the way. I will always remember when we arrived in the city of Twer. It was 5am and our hostel wasn’t open yet. So we decided to directly hit a fist spot for the day. We ended up at a wonderful plaza and filmed lines of each other until 7am. Never filmed anything that early… and the next day the spot was gone. There was a big construction site already and you could have just skated it by trespassing, which I wouldn’t recommend doing in Russia. Lucky us!
SICILY
This was our last trip before the pandemic really hit. Flo found an amazing spot in the North of the island: an abandoned hotel with a huge blue outdoor pool. It took us more than an hour to go there from our Airbnb, just to get kicked out immediately. No chance of skating it, because there was a high class film set at the spot and they seemed to have a problem with our small independent film crew. But this one friendly guy told us that they should be gone in two days. So, two days later, we did try our luck again… and the film crew was still there. Bummer! Yet another few days later, we gave it a third go and this time around, we did get lucky. We had a full day session at this blue bank paradise, with endless possibilities. Sometimes you just have to keep trying… lesson learned, I guess. By the way, you can also see the spot in Froschi’s video Eleven Gates!
PARIS
Paris might be one of the hottest city on the planet. We were traveling to Paris in the hottest period of summer, 42 degrees, discovering the city on bicycles. Flo had already been to Paris many a time, working as a guide for Skateboardtravel. So, he was most interested in the suburbs. We got to see quite some sketchy places all around Paris and only saw the Eiffel Tower once. But I guess that’s what most of us wanted anyways – except our friend Eder, who will probably never go on another skate trip. Sorry Eder!
WESTERN GERMANY
Sometimes a skate trip and the fun that comes along doesn’t let you think about your next move. You live the moment and don’t think about tomorrow. We spent a night under a bridge in Dortmund, because nobody had thought about where to stay next during our camping trip through Western Germany. The fun thing was, that nobody cared. We had a good time.
SOUTHERN GERMANY
Stuttgart was our mission, but we spent most of the time around Speyer. Kenny’s childhood friend Maler offered us a place to stay in the garden of some friends of his. The place was full of apple trees and offered us everything we needed – except of a toilet. So, the guys gave us a shovel and some toilet paper and said: “Go somewhere, dig a hole and do your thing wherever you want“. For all the guys it wasn’t a big thing, but Lucia, who was with us for the first time, didn’t feel too comfy. She got it first try though and in the end, she would take the shovel with pride and go somewhere behind the apple trees. Henrik even has a tattoo of a shovel with some toilet paper wrapped around the top of it. on top. I’ll never forget the fire pits that were burning till the early morning hours. Big thanks to them Speyer homies!
TENERIFE
Linus was playing some street music with his guitar. Him and Vanessa were staying in Tenerife for a few months and spent some days with the crew. One day, we took a day off from skating and decided to climb a volcano. packed with many beers.. Fully packed with beers we walked through the moon landscape, direction to the top of the second biggest vulcano. Lucia, whose feet were already hurting, suddenly stopped and said she wouldn’t want to continue. Her ankles were bloody, but in the end, we convinced her to keep going. Kenny suggested a shortcut and we ended up in some crazy landscape: no plants, only sharp rocks and a cold lava stream. It started to get dark and we kept hiking up this cold lava stream. But everything turned out just fine… we made it!
FUERTEVENTURA
Every place got local heroes, and we got to meet the absolute best one in Fuerteventura. It’s always nice to connect with locals, and Saul warmed my heart for sure. Kind of a shy guy, but still motivating everyone around. He barely spoke any English, but took all the time in the world for us. Hit him up, if you ever come to Fuerteventura!
INDONESIA
Jona, Manni and I were traveling to the beautiful islands of Indonesia. My friends wanted to surf every day, as much as they could and I was fine with watching them or just doing something else. There wasn’t too much skating happening, because it’s just too hot and humid. But in the end, we managed to have one super sick session with our new mate Chris from Austria, a local called Risky and his crew from Mataram, Lombok. The spot was an abandoned hotel, wich had already been taken back by nature. Back to back tricks on ledges, dead skulls in empty pools and an unforgettable vibe. One of the best sessions ever, thanks for taking a break from surfing, Jona and Manni!
SOUTHERN SPAIN
Recovering from a rolled ankle from Indonesia, I joined the crew on a trip to the Southern part of Spain. The weather wasn’t the best, but we managed to get some clips. There was this full pipe in a small town, that I really wanted to skate. I got a photo with Henrik, but I’m kinda picky, I guess, and wanted to do my trick a little higher. Well, I got wiped out on the next try and the next two days were nothing but painful. Back in Berlin, I went to the hospital and it turned out that my collarbone was broken.
BERLIN
It’s 2020 and the pandemic is hitting hard. Perfect timing for some street skating, because that was the only thing you were allowed to do on a skateboard. Stefan asked me to join him on a little mission, even though he had been awake all night long. Sometimes he takes a hundred or more tries to get his tricks done, but he’s almost always successful in the end – and so he was, after not sleeping for the full night. I’ve got no clue where this guy takes his energy from. Love you H-Man!
