A couple of days ago we’ve premiered Pepa Košťál’s latest VX masterpiece Still on a Mission and since it’s got such a strong visual identity, we couldn’t help but ask Pepa about his inspirations. So here’s a Blast from the Past with the Czech lensman and over here you also find a little interview with him, that we conducted for the release of his full length.

Jakub Osten, Outsiders, 2004
„
Outsiders is a Prague video that I have watched over and over again as a kid. It’s the early 2000s atmosphere with some real Stalin Plaza legends that caught my attention. I’ve picked Jakub’s part here. He’s simply got a timeless style and trick selection and it’s been a big honour for me to film a part with him more than 20 years later.
Kevin Bilyeu, Sabotage 5, 2019
„
I could basically pick any Sabotage video for my BFTP. Ryan Higgins is an audiovisual wizard and I can’t express how much I love his work. I decided to go for Kevin Bilyeu’s Sabotage 5 part, though. I’ve got the DVD at home. Kevin’s last trick is a pretty obvious homage to Josh Kalis’ part in Photosynthesis, which is also an absolute favourite of mine.
Bombastik 2100 #3, 2019

And last but not least, here’s one from my Santiago homies. A pretty dark atmosphere with some instrumental music, complemented by some outstanding camera work. Without this crew, I don’t think any of my filming would have ever happened.
