„What started as a joke while drinking beers outside Hector Skateshop, slowly turned into a fully fledged project. Milan’s M4, the so-called blue line, has been under construction for years. Then, in typical Italian style, they boosted the construction to have it ready for the 2026 Winter Olympics. The result is mostly sad and grey architecture of corporate soulless design. On the inside, every station looks the same. On the outside, you’ll find granite planters, marble ventilation boxes, and plazas, that may be pretty useless for the average citizen, but offer endless opportunities for us skaters… So, for eight months we explored every single metro stop, occasionally argued with authorities and left marks of usefulness in otherwise useless places. We never went more than 100 meters away from a subway entrances – except when we were exactly on top of the subway tracks. The challenge brought out the creativity in all of us. We may not have done the gnarliest tricks at all times, but we definitely tried our best to maximize the spots‘ potentials. If you ever end up in Milan, just follow the blue line and see for yourself!“ (Matteo Rey)
