After a year long hiatus, we’re back in print, with the biggest and most international issue we’ve ever put out (and for the first time ever it’s entirely in English). As you’re reading these lines, the mags should slowly be making their way to skate shops all throughout Europe (with a little help from the good people over at Iron Distribution)… And quite some lucky, lovely people got their hands on them 160+ pages during the weekend already, as we were celebrating the release of issue 51 at Munich’s former Olympic Ice Stadium.

It may have been a bit cold, but when you get people (in some cases even carloads of people) from the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Southern France as well as from all over Germany to a perfectly skateable indoor location, things are bound to heat up pretty quickly. The rollercoaster rail remains a challenge, especially during warm up… But Robin Bolian, Sergio Reinhardt and a bunch of others managed to take the full ride, and Michael Heindl even fakie grinded it all the way. If anyone’s got the footage, please feel free to send it over, we’d be stoked! Next one up was the Graw Jump challenge with transfers and bump over bar constructions. Everybody was sending it. Then, off to the one of a kind mini ramp we’ve got at Munich’s former Olympic Ice Stadium – if you like what you see on the photos and our instagram clips, you can still hit it. The ramp will still be there for a while…

Throughout all the skating, our main man Dolgotoron kept the music vibes at an all time high. But everybody deserves a break at some point, and so, we all granted ourselves an hour long interlude with Thee Shirts on stage, a little mosh pit here and there, some Glühwein and some Dunkin‘ Donuts, another Chiemseer brewski or a Monster can in the color of your choice, some off-the-beaten track skateboarding (just like Shrimpy did) and some chats with many an old friend (and new ones alike). Then, it was movie time. Robert Christ, André Gerlich, Matthias Flentje and Jonas Immesberger had taken a secret tape to the party. If you’ve been there, or if you’ve had the chance to feast your eyes on the mag already, you know what you’re in for. If not, you just gotta wait a bit longer. It’ll be worth the wait, though… one of the most creative video projects (and articles) that we’ve ever featured. Big up to Robert and everyone involved!

The secret tape was followed by the very first screening of „We Still Live Here“, our latest full length road movie by Nico Uhler. Supported by Vans Europe, and featuring Robin Bolian, David Bachl, Jonas ‘Ginger‘ Bünger, Jan Hirt, Wouter de Jong, Ramon Notz, Jeroen Bruggeman, Tim Rebensdorf, Jan Hoffmann, Matisse Banc, André Gerlich, Joe Lascar, Matteo Vandeputte, Uryann Raudet, Émilie Alexandre, Niels Bennett, Marco Kada, Arthur Bultynck, Jeanne Lagger, Lorenz Schneider, Simon Gärtner, Catherine Marquis, Sergio Reinhardt, Ruben Lücke, Yann-Xavier Horowitz and many more. Most of these lovely people, and many more of course, had even made it out to Munich. So, as soon as the credits had rolled, party was on…

Much love to our good friends over at Further. They’ve made this full event possible. Massive thanks to Monster Energy and Vans Europe. They’ve kept us fired up. Massive thanks to Titus München. They even sent us the greatest announcer Bavaria has ever heard, that is Floppy. Some more massive thanks to DropIn-TV, Graw Jump, Dunkin’ Donuts, Chiemseer, Thee Shirts and Dolgotoron. And last but not least, nothing but love to each and everyone who made it out to Munich’s former Olympic Ice Stadium and celebrated the release of issue 51 with us. Go get one in your local skateshop soon, or feel free to slide into our DMs ;)
